This is the HTT Plethore – an awesome-looking Canadian motor which is looking to ruffle a few feathers in the supercar world.
And on first impressions the HTT ticks the relevant boxes thanks to its carbon fibre bodywork, upward-opening doors and super-aggressive design.
First details of the Plethore emerged in 2007 with the then unknown company claiming its first supercar would be available with either 750bhp or 1,300bhp.
The latter hasn’t come to fruition with the Canadian car fitted with a 6.2-litre V8 engine developing 750bhp – giving the HTT a power-to-weight ratio of 643bhp-per-ton.
Final performance figures are a couple of months away but HTT has confirmed to Auto Trader the Plethore will accelerate from 0-62mph in less than three seconds.
As with most new supercar makers, HTT has taken the engine from an American company – Chevrolet – but one of the car’s main features is undeniably British.
The driver sits the middle of the car – one of the most iconic features of the legendary McLaren F1 from the 1990s.
We like this a lot, particularly as the just announced McLaren MP4-12C is a more sober-looking two seater. The supercar world needs outlandishness so it’s great HTT is having a go.
As a result of its three-seat layout, the Plethore measures 7ft 5in crossways. To put this into context, the massive Lamborghini Reventon Roadster measures a meagre 6ft 8in.
The only wider Canadian is the late snooker star Bill Werbeniuk and that’s only because he used to drink 25 pints a day. Although we imagine the HTT is more nimble than Big Bill.
Available to order now, the HTT Plethore will set you back £220,000 putting it right in the firing line of the Lamborghini Murcielago and around £70,000 more than the Ferrari 458 Italia and Mercedes SLS Gullwing.
